About The Position

Dohrn Transfer is your complete Midwestern transportation partner. We offer less-than-truckload, truckload and value-added services throughout our 10-state service area. The purpose of this role is to efficiently and effectively oversee the pricing department and to assure that accuracy and integrity is withheld throughout the network while profitably growing the business. The Pricing Manager is expected to provide valuable cost-based business analysis and serve as decision support for the Corporate Pricing function.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver License
  • Strong math and analytical skills required
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people
  • Experience with Excel required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and telephone etiquette
  • Detail-oriented, organized
  • Ability to multi-task and react to change productively
  • Excellent attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications preferred
  • Experience with pricing/costing models in transportation industry and with third party logistics companies preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the pricing department (including coaching, counseling, disciplinary action, reviews, etc.)
  • Train and develop Pricing staff to develop and refine their skills
  • Review and revise current processes to ensure timeliness of all assignments
  • Consistently stay organized and manage concurrent deadlines.
  • Coordinate data collection, manipulation, and navigate required systems monthly.
  • Lead decision maker in pricing area
  • Review & approve customer contracts and implement rate agreements once established
  • Review and address tariff discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Sales to develop customized pricing solutions for key accounts and large opportunities, balancing customer needs and company profitability.
  • Conduct front end profitability analysis expectations and ensure those expectations were met once business has come onboard
  • Work with Costing to understand cost model
  • Work with Operations to understand operational constraints and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain metrics to measure departmental efficiencies
  • Support Customer Service to provide pricing support for quotes
  • Deliver necessary reports to other departments as needed in a timely manner
  • Identify opportunities for pricing process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Provide training and guidance to the sales team and other relevant departments on pricing strategies and tools.
  • Perform other duties as needed
