Pricing Analyst

About The Position

This role is central to developing, refining, and maintaining pricing models that accurately reflect real cost drivers such as materials, freight, and tariffs. The Pricing Analyst will identify gaps in current pricing approaches, recommend improvements, and build scenario-based pricing tools to support decision-making on margin vs. volume trade-offs. The position involves extensive data analysis to track historical pricing, costs, and margins, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to improve pricing decisions. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for improving existing tools, standardizing pricing methodologies, and collaborating cross-functionally with Project Management and Purchasing to ensure pricing reflects current cost structures and operational constraints.

Requirements

  • Advanced Excel skills (must be able to build models from scratch)
  • 3 7 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or cost modeling
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to translate data into business decisions
  • Experience with pricing, cost modeling, financial analysis, or similar
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • English language proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in software tools such as Smartsheet and NetSuite
  • Spanish language proficiency

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate pricing for projects using Excel-based models
  • Maintain and update price lists
  • Ensure pricing accuracy and consistency across projects and systems
  • Build, refine, and maintain pricing models that reflect real cost drivers (materials, freight, tariffs, etc.)
  • Identify gaps in current pricing approaches and recommend improvements
  • Develop scenario-based pricing tools (volume, sourcing region, logistics changes, fulfillment. etc)
  • Support and influence decision-making on margin vs. volume trade-offs
  • Track and analyze historical pricing, costs, and margins across projects
  • Identify trends and variances impacting profitability
  • Build reporting that highlights: Contribution margin by project / customer / product type, Pricing accuracy vs. actual outcomes, Key cost drivers (freight, material, sourcing region, etc.)
  • Translate data into actionable insights to improve pricing decisions
  • Improve existing Excel and Smartsheet tools to increase speed and reliability
  • Help to standardize pricing methodologies across projects where appropriate
  • Reduce manual effort and improve visibility for leadership into pricing and margins
  • Partner with Project Management, Purchasing, and other departments to gather required inputs for pricing
  • Ensure pricing reflects current cost structures, supplier inputs, and operational constraints
