The Tender Specialist is a strategic role within DSV Canada, sitting within the Tender Management department. The Tender Specialist ensures compliance with tender processes, maintains accurate pricing data, and contributes to competitive, customer focused proposals that help secure new and existing business. The scope of work includes time-sensitive projects requiring the appointed candidate to perform in a fast-paced environment while managing several projects concurrently

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary studies in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related fields
  • Minimum of 3 years international transportation industry experience
  • Good command, both verbal and written, English skills.
  • Ability to create collaborative engagements and active listening
  • Service oriented and able to resolve customer grievances
  • Strong interpersonal skills, building professional relationships internally and externally
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end process of responding to tenders and RFx requests, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely submissions on or before customer-designated due dates.
  • Analyze tender and distribute tasks to internal stakeholders, and review/validate information received from the internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate with Air, Sea, Road, and Customs Brokerage teams to gather all data required for tender submissions.
  • Deliver informed decisions about appropriate price points for various transport modes (Air & Sea) based on analysis of internal data, external market data, and customer needs.
  • Compile and pre-populate pricing inputs using Microsoft Excel VLOOKUP and advanced formula techniques.
  • Populate pricing templates with proper rates, accessorials, and fuel billing rules; verify that all pricing is correct and recorded in company databases per company procedures.
  • Maintain tender data profiling and records, including the update of monthly bid log and completed tenders
  • Support market intelligence on competitors pricing, capabilities, facilities, client base, products and services for competition analysis
  • Serve as the liaison between Sales, Clients, and Operations for all questions regarding tender responses.
  • Liaise with and provide pricing rates to the global DSV network for global tenders.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and global stakeholders to develop compelling, competitive proposals.
  • Manage and incorporate customer feedback throughout the tender cycle.
  • Communicate effectively in a diverse, multicultural environment — ability to engage at all levels of the organisation is essential.
  • Analyse customer requirements and shipment data to identify optimal transport solutions and develop the strongest possible business case.
  • Conduct profitability analysis and competitive analysis to ensure the competitiveness of pricing structures.
  • Develop and analyse detailed reports, charts, shipment simulations, and variance calculations using Microsoft Excel.
  • Identify opportunities for improving pricing and profitability of existing and new accounts.
  • Analyse shipment volume and revenue to assess the effectiveness and profitability of pricing strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions (Air & Sea), competitor pricing, and trade lane developments.
  • Audit and review processes to ensure compliance with pricing recommendations and department guidelines
  • Maintain accurate tender documentation, including tender files, and records of communication.
  • Supports organizational commitment to ISO 9001, ISO 45001 certification – Montreal location
  • Perform assigned tasks to support DSV meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment and follow all requirements as set out in the DSV Quality Health Safety Environment policy.
