About The Position

This part-time position supports implementation of an initiative in Martinsville and Henry County that serves parents and families. The position requires knowledge of evidence-based prevention strategies, healthy family dynamics, the impact of adverse experiences on family members, and parent education resources. The employee will have workspace at assigned medical offices to work with referred patients. Local travel is required, and work generally takes place during regular business hours, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed to accommodate needs or requests. The position offers up to 10 hours per week. Applicants must consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening as part of the application process.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Human Services, Education, or a related field.
• Knowledge of evidence-based prevention strategies, promotion of healthy family dynamics, the impact of adverse experiences on family members, and delivery of parent education resources.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience working pleasantly and cooperatively with a wide variety of people.
• Willingness to consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening.
• Ability to travel locally.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in community work or community-centered mental health awareness and promotion activities.
