About The Position

This part-time position assists in implementing an initiative in Martinsville and Henry County that supports parents and families. The specialist works with referred patients in space provided at assigned medical offices and provides parent education resources. The role generally operates during regular business hours, requires local travel, and may occasionally involve evening and weekend hours to accommodate needs or requests. The position is up to 10 hours per week. Applicants must consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening as part of the application process.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Human Services, Education, or a related field.
• Knowledge of evidence-based prevention strategies, promotion of healthy family dynamics, the impact of adverse experiences on family members, and delivery of parent education resources.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience working pleasantly and cooperatively with a wide variety of people.
• Willingness to consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in community work or community-centered mental health awareness and promotion activities.
