About The Position

CCAP's mission is to empower all people and communities, challenged by poverty and social and cultural barriers, through advocacy, education, and access to high quality health and human services. This position is working in CCAP's Substance Prevention Coalition Programs. The role involves carrying out the mission and vision of the Coalition while providing administrative support and serving as a spokesperson. The specialist implements education, prevention, and awareness programs, manages the implementation of STOP and Block grants, and collaborates with local and state staff, town departments, and citizens. This includes providing outreach, environmental interventions, and education to community members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.
  • 2 years’ experience preferred.
  • Substance Abuse prevention experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral abilities.
  • Able to convey essential information to supervise staff.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft platforms.
  • Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
  • Bilingual in Spanish; preferred.
  • Provide/maintain all required immunizations and/or vaccinations.
  • Complete all required background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years’ experience.
  • Substance Abuse prevention experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Implement education, prevention, and awareness programs.
  • Manage implementation of STOP and Block grants.
  • Work with Coalition Coordinator to recruit and motivate volunteers.
  • Collaborate with local and state staff administration, town departments (schools, library, recreation, police), and citizens.
  • Provide outreach, environmental interventions, and education to community members.
  • Maintain activities for assigned programs.
  • Review analysis of activities, costs, and operations to determine program progress.
  • Analyze and plan a logic model-based program per needs assessment.
  • Attend all training meetings needed to fulfill program.
  • Generate statistical reports at the request of the coordinator.
  • Attend coalition meetings and take minutes.
  • Become a Certified Prevention Specialist.
  • Attend regular supervision with Program Coordinator.
  • Complete all paperwork required for data generation.
  • Collaborate with other CCAP programs and administration.
  • Maintain productivity levels.
  • Attend program-related meetings.
  • Attend Community Events representing the Coalition’s.
  • Attend and participate in all Coalition’s public relations activities.
  • Attend training and development sessions.
  • Assist Coalition’s in developing and meeting goals and objectives.
  • Work with Coalition’s to develop annual work plan addressing prevention programming and policy development.
  • Assist Coalition Evaluator in gathering any necessary data for reporting.
  • Attend meetings of the full Coalition and of Coalition’s Subcommittees.
  • Represent Coalition’s at community events.
  • Represent Coalition’s at Town and State level meetings related to substance abuse.
  • Maintain data and prepare all necessary reports for town, state and funding agencies.
  • Assist in all aspects of grant development including but not limited to reports.
  • Attend meetings and conferences as required by the Coalition’s, State Agencies, and Federal Agencies.
  • Assist in recruitment of new Coalition members.
  • Develop volunteer orientation and training as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
