About The Position

El Dorado Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a PM Tech to join our team in Placerville, CA! This is an exciting opportunity to work on our fleet of vehicles on site. The schedule is Monday-Friday, starting at 11 AM, working 8-10 hour shifts. The starting pay for this position is $33.00 per hour, depending on experience. The pay range for this job category is $32 - $33 per hour.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy truck repairs and maintenance, or minimum 5 years of automotive experience if no heavy truck experience.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Outstanding communication skills and ability to build good team relationships.
Attention to detail.
Flexibility.
Proficiency in inspecting brake systems (air brakes), steering, suspension, tires, electrical systems, and emissions (DPF/SCR).
Ability to lift, carry, and pull up to 75+ pounds, with frequent kneeling, bending, and working in extreme temperatures.
Basic understanding of ECM downloading and interpreting trouble codes.
Familiarity with digital maintenance platforms for tracking service records.
Knowledge of Hydraulics repair is required.
Must provide own personal tools.

Nice To Haves

Welding/fabrication experience is a huge plus.

Responsibilities

Performing routine inspections at 21 day or 450 hour intervals (PM Service A, B, C, D, H services).
Replacing engine oil, air filters, and fuel filters (Fluid & Filter Changes).
Performing and documenting annual DOT safety inspections.
Greasing components and adjusting brakes.
Performing repairs on engines, chassis, body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels, and tires.
Utilizing vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs.
Conducting safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Completing required paperwork using the fleet maintenance software program for vehicle repairs, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Reviewing, completing, or assigning repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Performing maintenance-related work as required.
Maintaining a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Performing required safety protocols while working on vehicles.
Effectively communicating needed repairs or tasks.
