Preventative Maintenance Engineer
About The Position
Preventative Maintenance Engineer (Entry-Level Hotel Maintenance Engineer) at Hilton Madison Monona Terrace – Madison, WI. This role focuses on protecting the property's performance by staying ahead of maintenance needs through routine inspections and proactive care. The Preventative Maintenance Technician will support hotel operations by identifying and addressing maintenance needs early, helping to preserve equipment life and prevent unexpected downtime. This is a hands-on, forward-focused role where you will perform scheduled preventative maintenance across building systems and guest-facing areas, inspect, test, and service equipment including HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical components, and document inspections, repairs, and performance trends. You will also identify potential issues, recommend proactive solutions, and keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean, safe, and organized, assisting with minor repairs as needed.
Requirements
- High School education or equivalent
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to perform basic math
- Ability to use all general repair tools
- Ability to read simple drawings and specifications
- Ability to make rough estimates of required materials
- Ability to recognize early warning signs of mechanical issues and take corrective action
- Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A team-first attitude and a commitment to consistent, high-quality work
- Availability to work mornings Monday through Friday, including weekends or holidays as needed
Nice To Haves
- 3 to 4 years previous experience as a general repairman preferred
Responsibilities
