About The Position

The Preventative Maintenance Technician will have a basic understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to optimally provide scheduled maintenance of CNC production equipment through the use of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. Daily travel from home to Customer facilities with occasional overnight hotel stays required when servicing remote Customer locations within the designated coverage territory or when participating in remote training programs. This role involves using machine tool manuals, technical documents, internal and vendor resources to research machine parts and service. Staying in sync with safety laws and maintaining a clean, orderly work area is crucial. The technician will promote and perform preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment and conduct maintenance training to customer employees. Possessing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company is essential. This role also includes mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machines. Related duties as required are also part of the position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current Valid Class D License in good standing
  • 3 -5 years of validated experience within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in English verbal and written communication
  • Basic digital literacy and solid understanding of MS Office, Word and Outlook and other business programs.
  • Customer relation skills
  • Adaptable to changes and able to take care of change, delays, or general work-related issues.
  • Present a professional image.
  • Must be highly mobile, able to access all areas of the premises.
  • Ability to concentrate and remain focused while prioritizing multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged period of times.
  • Able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting of moderate to heavyweight material up to 50 lbs. with assistance from equipment or other employees.
  • Ability to frequently use hands and arms.
  • Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work responsibly and professionally in dynamic job sites that may involve tight timelines, changing priorities, and interaction with customers and team members.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods while servicing equipment.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions, including accessing equipment interiors and elevated areas.
  • Strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills required for precise electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic work.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Maintenance & repair and/or a broad shop background – is a plus.
  • Attention to detail with a technical curiosity and strong problem-solving skills.
