About The Position

Preventative Maintenance Engineer is a hands-on, forward-focused role that supports hotel operations by identifying and addressing maintenance needs early, helping preserve equipment life and prevent unexpected downtime. The role involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance across building systems and guest-facing areas, inspecting, testing, and servicing equipment including HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical components. The engineer will document inspections, repairs, and performance trends for engineering leadership, identify potential issues and recommend proactive solutions, and keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean, safe, and organized. They will also assist with minor repairs as needed to support overall engineering operations.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Must be able to perform basic math
  • Ability to use all general repair tools
  • Ability to read simple drawings and specifications
  • Ability to make rough estimates of required materials
  • Ability to recognize early warning signs of mechanical issues and take corrective action
  • Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • A team-first attitude and a commitment to consistent, high-quality work
  • Availability to work mornings Monday through Friday, including weekends or holidays as needed

Nice To Haves

  • 3 to 4 years previous experience as a general repairman preferred.
