The Franklin County Municipal Court is seeking a full-time Pretrial Probation Officer to work the 3rd shift (10 p.m. to 8 a.m., Saturday-Tuesday), with a shift differential. The Pretrial and Probation Services Department aims to promote community safety and pretrial success through research-informed recommendations and supervision services. This includes maximizing court appearance, removing barriers to justice, and promoting harm reduction. The department also focuses on reducing recidivism and changing offender behavior through evidence-based practices. Functions include pretrial, investigation, and supervision services, with specialized caseloads for domestic violence, sexual offenses, mental health, and more. The department operates 24/7 and requires officers to investigate criminal history, make bond recommendations, determine risk levels, monitor progress, update the court, and provide case summaries. Officers will communicate with judges, work with criminal justice partners, and utilize community resources.
