The Franklin County Municipal Court is seeking a full-time Pretrial Probation Officer to work the 2nd shift (2 p.m. to 12 a.m., Thursday-Sunday). This role operates under the general direction of a Chief Probation Officer and the immediate direction of a Probation Officer Supervisor. The primary responsibilities include investigating defendant criminal history, making bond recommendations, determining risk levels for reporting, monitoring bond progress, updating the Court with supervision compliance reports, and providing case summaries in Arraignment Court to promote public safety and reduce recidivism. The Pretrial Department operates 24/7 with offices in a correctional setting and at the Courthouse. Officers routinely communicate supervision compliance with judges and collaborate with criminal justice partners and community resources. The mission of Pretrial Services is to promote community safety and pretrial success through research-informed recommendations and supervision services that maximize court appearance, remove barriers to fair and efficient justice, and promote harm reduction. The mission of Probation Services is to promote community safety by reducing recidivism, changing offender behavior, and fostering accountability through the effective use of evidence-based practices.
