Presurgical Evaluation Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, UMass-Worcester, MA

Requirements
- Master or Doctoral degree from NP/PA accredited program and board certification is required
- Massachusetts State License, State Controlled Substances Registration and Federal DEA Controlled Substance required
Nice To Haves
- Acute Care/Critical Care clinical experience a plus, but not required
- 3-5 years of experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive health assessments, demonstrating a high level of autonomy and expert skill in the diagnosis and treatment of complex responses of individual, families, and communities to actual or potential health problems.
- Analyzes data collected to determine health status and identify differential diagnoses based on history, physical exam, and clinical findings.
- Formulates clinical decisions to manage acute and chronic illnesses and promote wellness.
- Partners with physicians regarding proposed plan of care.
- Formulates this plan of care with the patient.
- Documents patient care outcomes to determine effectiveness of plan of care.
- Integrates education, research and management, leadership and consultation into clinical role and functions in collegial relationships with nursing peers, physicians, professionals, and others who influence the health care environment
