About The Position

MCC is seeking a Press Utility to assist Press Operators with press setup, make-ready, and clean-up activities within defined time frames. The role supports changeovers between label jobs and helps ensure jobs are completed safely, accurately, and on time. The Press Utility is also responsible for maintaining clean machinery and an organized workspace while following customer and company quality requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to communicate and interact well with others verbally and in writing, and to work as a team player.
• Ability to read and understand a job ticket.
• Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements; must be able to pass a ruler test.
• Correctable vision to 20/20; must be able to pass an eye test.
• Ability to differentiate colors; must be able to pass a color test.
• Ability to input data into a computer.
• Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities.
• Self-motivated, able to stay focused, and able to follow instructions.
• Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Assertive and solution-focused.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Print shop experience is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
• Attain and maintain defined job objectives related to planning and executing jobs and quick changes.
• Assist with external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities.
• Assist with external clean-up activities following changeovers.
• Clean ink pans and ancillary equipment.
• Strip plates from cylinders.
• Locate dies to and from the press.
• Work with the Press Operator to view labels with assistance of a strobe light when required.
• Comply with customer and MCC quality assurance specifications.
• Complete quality assurance sheets and associated documentation when required.
• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace.
• Work overtime when needed and as assigned.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
