About The Position

The Machine Operator works in the Production department and operates paper mailer equipment. The role is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and troubleshooting equipment and processes, and ensuring products meet technical specifications and production standards. The operator monitors and adjusts controls, maintains equipment and setup parameters, coordinates materials for changeovers, records quality and production metrics, and helps ensure accurate inventory and supply control. The role also includes coaching assistants, completing quality checks, following safety policies, using required PPE, maintaining housekeeping, and performing other related tasks as requested by a supervisor. The position is hourly and non-exempt.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
Basic computer skills, including AS400 and Microsoft Office.
Basic math skills.
Ability to work in varying temperatures above 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Safely set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment and processes.
Ensure products are manufactured and completed according to technical specifications.
Monitor and adjust controls to ensure products comply with production standards.
Establish, follow, and improve equipment and setup parameters.
Ensure materials needed for changeovers are available and secured before setup.
Record quality and production metrics using written or electronic methods within deadlines.
Ensure accurate inventory and effective control of materials and supplies.
Coach and mentor assistants by providing clear and precise instructions.
Follow all safety rules and company policies and procedures.
Perform quality control checks.
Maintain good housekeeping.
Use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Complete related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
