About The Position

This is an entry-level, non-skilled general labor position in a press room. The employee helps maintain and promote Tyson's safety culture, completes required training, and performs production duties as assigned while following company policies and procedures. Applicants may be considered for any general production opening. The schedule is B Shift: Sunday 12 a.m.–6 a.m., Sunday 6 p.m.–6 a.m., and Monday and Tuesday 6 p.m.–6 a.m. The position requires working in conditions that may include wet or humid areas, moving machinery, elevated or precarious locations, outdoor weather, vibration, loud noise, and occasional exposure to chemicals and extreme heat. The employee must be able to perform the physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

At least 6 months of forklift or operator experience with one employer within the last 24 months.
Ability to stand for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds; shovel; climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet; and bend, stretch, and reach.
Ability to work in extreme heat, cold, inclement weather, and areas with odors.
Ability to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture.
Receive required training.
Perform various production positions and other duties as assigned.
Maintain a clean work area using soap and a high-pressure hose.
Read and complete required logs.
Communicate with supervisors and co-workers via two-way radio.
Operate a front-end loader or forklift if required, after obtaining the necessary certification.
