About The Position
The Machine Operator RE03 operates machinery to maintain the continuous flow of product through the production process and ensure the correct ingredients and supplies are used on the line. The operator monitors and adjusts machine settings as needed, reports equipment requiring maintenance to a supervisor, maintains a safe work environment, and follows Tyson policies and procedures. The role requires documented work experience in multiple areas of a rendering facility. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor. The position is located at River Valley Ingredients, Plant A in Hanceville, Alabama, on B Shift (nights), with base pay of $22.85 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 6 consecutive months of work within the last year.
- Documented work experience in multiple areas of a rendering facility.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand for long periods; lift up to 50 pounds; shovel; climb stairs and ladders up to 60 feet; bend, stretch, and reach.
- Ability to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions.
- Ability to read and complete required logs.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors and coworkers via two-way radio.
- Must obtain certification if required to operate a frontend loader, manlift, or forklift.
- Rehire eligibility requires a minimum waiting period of 180 days and no more than three prior times worked at Tyson Foods.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery to maintain continuous product flow through production.

- Notify a supervisor when machines require maintenance.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow Tyson policies and procedures.
- Clean the work area using soap and a high-pressure hose.
- Read and complete required logs.
- Communicate with supervisors and coworkers via two-way radio.
- Perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions.
- Operate a frontend loader, manlift, or forklift if required, after obtaining certification.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
