About The Position

This position is responsible for maintenance and preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson policies and procedures. The role is located at the Tyson Foods Truck Stop in Hanceville, Alabama. The level is ME01 to ME06 based on experience, with base pay of $22.60 to $31.65 per hour based on level, plus a shift differential. The schedule is 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. on a rotating schedule, with Sundays always off. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Relocation assistance is not available.

Requirements

At least 1 year of industrial maintenance experience.
At least 1 year of basic mechanical or maintenance skills, including equipment preventive maintenance, oil changes, greasing, and repair or replacement of semi tires and brakes on semi-trucks and trailers.
At least 1 year of experience operating a cutting torch and electric welder.
Valid state driver's license and clean driving record.
Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance.
Ability to use basic electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet.
Ability to bend, stretch, and reach, and to work in extreme heat, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
Ability to read and understand assignments and communicate orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture.
Receive training as required.
Perform various positions as required or assigned.
Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance on trucks and trailers.
Complete maintenance tasks such as equipment preventive maintenance, oil changes, greasing, semi-tire repair or replacement, and brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers.
May perform air brake, electrical, and air-conditioning work.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
