About The Position

This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role may include air brake, electrical, and air conditioning work. Applicants may be considered for any Truck Shop Mechanic opening. The successful candidate must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Current valid state driver’s license.
• At least 6 months of mechanical skills within the last 24 months, listed on the application.
• 6 months of continuous employment with one employer within the last 24 months.
• Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance.
• Ability to use basic electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools.
• Ability to read and understand assignments.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; climb stairs and ladders up to 20 feet; bend, stretch, and reach; and work in extreme heat, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
• Willingness and ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and promote the Tyson safety culture.
• Receive training as required.
• Perform various positions as required or assigned.
• Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers.
• Perform air brake, electrical, and air conditioning work as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
