About The Position

The Press Operator is a general labor role that supports MSM’s manufacturing operations by assisting with material preparation, resin handling, press support, and general production tasks. This role works closely with machine operators and production staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a press operator, machine operator, or in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret job orders, work instructions, and blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
  • Ability to lift and move moderate weights, stand for extended periods, and work safely around heavy machinery.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while operating industrial presses and other precision production equipment.
  • Adherence to all OSHA safety regulations and company safety protocols, including the consistent use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed to support production schedules and business demands.
  • Must be a (i) US Citizen, (ii) lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (aka green card holder), (iii) protected individual as defined by U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or (iv) eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training in manufacturing, machining, or related disciplines.
  • Experience with precision presses or similar equipment (e.g., hydraulic presses, compression molding machines) used in advanced materials manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with quality systems (ISO standards) and continuous improvement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Handle, measure, and mix resins and related materials used in molding and composite manufacturing.
  • Wear required PPE, including respirators, when working with resins or airborne particulates.
  • Support press operators by staging materials, loading components, and moving parts throughout the production area.
  • Perform highly manual labor tasks, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand work.
  • Stand and perform physical work for 8–12 hours per shift, depending on production needs.
  • Conduct basic visual inspections of parts to ensure quality and report any issues.
  • Assist with cleaning, equipment wipe-downs, and general housekeeping to maintain a safe workspace.
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements, consistent with the standards noted in the Press Operator role.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds independently and participating in team lifts for heavier items, in compliance with all applicable safety guidelines.
