About The Position

The Press Operator is responsible for running presses according to Work Instructions. This position involves loading, unloading, trimming, and stacking rubber slabs. The role requires maintaining work area cleanliness, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs), and operating equipment safely. The position also demands the ability to self-manage, prioritize tasks, multitask, and work under deadlines in an indoor manufacturing environment with varying temperatures. Key functions include reading weigh scales, perceiving colors and shading, and meeting the physical demands of the job, which include semi-moderate to moderate physical activity such as sitting, standing, hand/arm manipulation, walking, lifting up to 75lbs, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, seeing, touching/feeling, hearing, and crouching.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and follow directions in regard to SOP’s, WI’s, Management instructions, and other job-related instructions
  • Basic communication skills required
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to self-manage, prioritize, multi-task and work under deadlines
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (Semi-moderate to moderate physical activity including but not limited to sitting, standing, hand/arm manipulation, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, seeing, touching/feeling, hearing, and crouching)
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Follow Work Instructions
  • Correctly load materials into presses
  • Unload material from presses
  • Trim flash from edge of tile
  • Stack tile according to WI
  • Maintain work area cleanliness and general housekeeping regarding press area
  • Operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner
  • Perform manual tasks under varying temperatures conditions usually in an indoor manufacturing environment
  • Read weigh scales
  • Perceive colors and shading
