About The Position

The 3rd Shift Press Operator is responsible for various tasks related to the operation of a press, including loading steel, staging materials, managing scrap, printing labels, and ensuring product quality through the use of gauges. The role also involves maintaining a safe and organized work environment, accurately labeling and tracking products, entering data into Measurlink, and adhering to all company rules and processes. Additionally, the position requires a commitment to 5S principles, continuous improvement, and contributing to team success. Personnel may be assigned additional duties as needed by management.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience with operating a forklift
Basic computer knowledge
Great organizational and time management abilities.
Attention to detail.
Effectively communicate in a professional demeanor when dealing with the public or any level of employees.
Ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to work in a team environment or independently
Ability to work overtime

Loading steel on payoff wheel
Staging steel
Dumping scrap hoppers
Printing labels
Uses a variety of gauges to ensure quality
Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
Label, scan, and move product per specifications
Enters data into Measurlink
Follow all rules, regulations and work processes set forth by the company
Hold self-accountable to create and maintain a safe working environment.
Competently perform all tasks with a focus on safety within a fast-paced environment.
Contributes to team effort by focusing on continuous improvement and success for the entire team.
From time to time, personnel may be assigned other duties for the purpose of training, additional assistance or for other reasons as needed necessary by management.
