About The Position

This position is responsible for operating stamping presses and other secondary metal processing equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The role involves performing in-process checks, minimizing scrap, and ensuring parts are made to print according to quality requirements. The operator will also be responsible for data entry, performing daily safety checks on machines, and operating a forklift. Training will be provided on the 1st shift, with the primary work hours on the 2nd shift.

Requirements

Intermediate knowledge of blueprint reading
Proficient at setting up, adjusting and operating stamping presses and other secondary metal processing equipment
Ability to operate coil line and feeder equipment
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
Ability to be detail oriented
Ability to be dependable and trustworthy
Ability to work well in a team environment
3-5 years of experience setting up and operating stamping presses, pre-setters, and other secondary equipment

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe and efficient work environment
Adjust, and operate stamping presses and other secondary metal processing equipment
Make small adjustments to feeder equipment to feed material into press
Perform in process checks on parts and minimize scrap
Maintain a clean work area
Perform work in line with quality requirements and ensure that parts are made to print
Operate a forklift on a regular basis
Data entry on computer system
Perform daily safety checks on machines
Run single stroke hand feed and automatic presses
Turn on and turn off the machine
Make stock guides adjustment
Additional items as assigned by Supervisor
