About The Position

MRP is seeking a passionate and agile Press Operator Level 1 who is a problem-solver and excited by challenges. In this role within the Press Department, the individual will support the Operations Teams by producing printed products in a timely manner while meeting customer quality standards.

  • Must have basic computer skills or the ability to learn basic skills, including the ability to type on a keyboard, use a mouse, enter passwords, open and close programs, and start and shut-down a computer.
  • Excellent endurance to stand and move about the work area all day.
  • GED or High School Equivalent
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or job requiring physical work

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a printing or packing company.
  • Demonstrated work experience where you worked with and/or helped troubleshoot machine issues.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that paper stock is correct according to the job ticket and Raw Stock Load Tag; that stock caliper is micrometer checked; and that Raw Stock Load Tag is placed in the job ticket.
  • Ensure that plates are pulled from holding area and available for next job.
  • Ensure that inks and/or coatings are pulled from storage racks and verified as correct to the ink card.
  • Set up feeder properly, as well as double sheet detector, side guide register and the loading of materials.
  • Hang plates and change blankets, as assigned by press operator.
  • Rule out press sheet and perform die vinyl checks, as required.
  • Dispose of make-ready material properly and separate recyclable material, per instructions.
  • Assist in maintenance requirements of presses, as scheduled.
