About The Position

The Press Operator C produces products according to shop orders and sets up and operates CNC machines and presses with minimal or no supervision. The role involves selecting and setting tooling and machine parameters, monitoring tooling condition, performing routine machine maintenance, servicing tooling as needed, and tracking inventory usage.

Requirements

• Ability to carry out all functions associated with being a Press Operator.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC machines and presses with minimal or no supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a basic math skills assessment.
• Ability to read a ruler, set calipers, and read blueprints and a micrometer.
• One year of mechanical experience.
• Ability to assemble from blueprints, sketches, and instructions.
• Basic math and reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce products as described in the shop order.
• Set proper die clearance.
• Select the proper punch grade and lubrication.
• Detect when a tool needs to be serviced.
• Read shop orders and set up tools accordingly.
• Select and set proper feed roll pressure.
• Determine and set slide and stripper settings.
• Perform routine maintenance on the machine.
• Sharpen and service tooling as required.
• Pull inventory and record usage.
