About The Position

C-P Flexible Packaging is seeking experienced Press Operators and Press Assistants for 2nd and 3rd shifts. This role involves performing press operator duties, adhering to all safety policies and procedures, and meeting company standards. The position requires completing tasks efficiently to meet daily goals and production schedules, ensuring the highest quality of materials produced according to customer specifications. Teamwork and a commitment to exceeding expectations are essential. Minimizing waste percentage and complying with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including those related to Employee Health and Safety, SQF, and GMP, are critical aspects of this role. Other duties may be assigned by management or supervision.

Ability to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance of hoist; 70 lbs without (intermittently)
Ability to stand for up to 12 hours on concrete floors (consistently)
Ability to bend and twist up to 70% of the time
Ability to work 8-hour shifts (consistently)
Ability to work from two-story heights (intermittently)
Ability to use step stools or ladders (occasionally)
Ability to work in very hot and humid conditions for up to 8 hours (June-September)
Ability to adjust shift hours for vacation coverage or machine demands (intermittently)
Consistent color vision acuity
Ability to work in a hot or cold environment (up to 115F and down to 40F)
Work around solvent/ink/glue fumes/other solvents used in printing manufacturing (consistently)
Ability to work in tight places (occasional)
Must wear necessary PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, hairnet, beard net (if applicable), cut-resistant gloves, solvent gloves, and any other identified PPE.
Follow all safety regulations and rules at all times.
Ability to be on feet up to 80% of the designated shift.

Responsibilities

Lead in tearing down and setting up jobs (Operators); assist in the process (Assistants).
Meet new task requirements as they arise.
Follow set up procedures for the assigned machine.
Complete tasks within adequate time limits to meet daily goals and schedule needs.
Adapt to changing environmental conditions.
Ensure materials produced meet the highest quality standards and customer specifications.
Work effectively in a team environment, exceeding position expectations.
Meet daily goals within a close margin compared to other operators and crews.
Minimize waste percentage.
Comply with all general Company-wide SOPs and job/department-specific SOPs.
Adhere to SOPs covering Employee Health and Safety, SQF, and GMP.
Supervise Press Helper's duties to ensure they are performed and completed.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management/Supervision.
