About The Position

As a Sheeter Operator, you are the critical link between raw paper rolls and the high-precision printing process. You’ll be responsible for transforming massive rolls of paperboard into perfectly sized, flat sheets, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency for our packaging production.

Requirements

  • Experience with industrial machinery (preferably sheeters like Marquip, Goodstrong or Maxson) is a major plus.
  • Ability to read a tape measure to 1/32" and perform basic calculations for sheet counts and waste percentages.
  • Ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • A "sharp eye" for catching small defects that could cause issues later in the printing or die-cutting stages.
  • Strict adherence to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate high-speed sheeting equipment to convert paperboard rolls into precise sheets.
  • Constantly monitor sheet dimensions, squareness, and surface quality to prevent defects (e.g., dust, slitting errors, or scuffing).
  • Review job tickets to determine specifications (size, weight, grain direction) and perform efficient make-ready transitions between different jobs.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance on knives, rollers, and belts to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Operate forklifts or roll-clamping equipment to load heavy rolls onto the unwind stands.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical issues or paper-run jams to minimize downtime.
