About The Position

Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is hiring a full-time Press Brake Operator at its Ellijay, Georgia location. The role operates and maintains hydraulic and mechanical press equipment used to roll, bend, and form material. The operator works to production targets and quality standards while maintaining a clean, orderly, healthy, and safe work area. The schedule is 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Carpenter & Paterson manufactures and distributes pipe hangers and supports for commercial and industrial applications. The company has operated since 1913 and has five locations in the United States.

Requirements

• Must be able to measure quickly and accurately.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to stand and work in a warm environment for long periods.
• Good working knowledge of figures and numbers.
• Able to work quickly and efficiently.
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate press equipment in accordance with work orders.
• Assist the department foreman in meeting production targets.
• Maintain quality standards.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly.
• Notify managers about non-conformities and facility or equipment repair needs.
• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
• Grind and clean materials.
• Move materials using forklifts.
• Lay out jobs to match prints.
