About The Position

This position is for a Pressroom Press Assistant in Willard, OH. The starting rate is $19.75 per hour. The work hours will be determined based on promotions to Roll Tender. This role requires material handler experience in a printing press room.

Requirements

• Material Handler experience in Printing Press Room
• Basic knowledge of presswork procedures and materials learned through on the job training.
• Ability to follow instructions to assist in press set up, operation and maintenance.
• Able to operate hand carts, pallet jacks, stackers and hydraulic feed mechanisms.
• Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure paper or raw materials (inks, glues etc) are loaded into feeders, hoppers, bins etc to supply a constant flow of materials while the equipment is running.
• Make adjustments to equipment such as feeder mechanism based on the size of the paper.
• Deliver equipment components such as plates or spray heads to the equipment for installation.
• Recycle old/discarded plates.
• Provide basic assistance as needed to make-ready the equipment for operation.
• Assist with retrieving plates, hanging plates and recycling/storing plates and other tasks associated with make-ready of the press.
