About The Position

AO Precision Manufacturing LLC (“AOP” or the “Company”) is a family-owned manufacturer of CNC - machined parts primarily for the firearms industry. AOP manufactures those parts in a company-owned 120,000-square-foot building in Daytona Beach, FL. The Company operates 100+ CNC milling and turning machines and related equipment as well as in-house anodizing, chroming and phosphating lines. AOP’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities include build-to-print, prototyping and in-house assembly which have been certified utilizing AS9100 and NADCAP standards. The Company currently employs 75 people. The Company currently generates 90% of its revenues from the firearms industry. Ownership has mandated that AOP must diversify its business away from the firearms industry. AOP needs to grow its aerospace and defense business as well as develop profitable business opportunities in the automotive, agricultural, heavy truck and equipment industries as well as others.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing management background, preferably in the precision machining industry
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a company’s operations
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Develop customer acquisition strategies
  • Grow the business on both the top and bottom line
  • Strong foundation in quality systems
  • Ability to effectively utilize MRP systems (specifically Epicor)
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training
  • Strong financial management knowledge
  • Previously had P&L responsibility for a company, business unit or product line
  • Experience in reducing costs and working capital requirements
  • Ability to build a strong relationship with the management team, the company’s production employees, Juno and ultimately with customers and industry contacts
  • Ability to work with people at all levels and lead people to the appropriate conclusion on courses of action
  • Ability to get things done quickly and thoughtfully
  • Possess a long-term growth mentality versus a quick-turn mentality
  • Production management talent, leadership, and execution skills

Responsibilities

  • Driving sales growth of the business through penetration of new markets and customers
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of AOP
  • Participation in the strategic planning process
  • Operational outcomes including production, inventory control, capital utilization, quality control, safety training and employee development
  • Full P&L responsibility
  • Develop along with Juno [and execute] a strategy to effectively manage the profitability of the Company, broaden the customer base, increase revenues and improve bottom line performance
  • Attract, motivate, develop, and manage high-caliber employees
  • Delegate and not micromanage, while retaining a deep understanding of the details
  • Think, plan, and execute tactically and strategically
