About The Position

Frontier Community Credit Union is seeking a dynamic President/CEO in Leavenworth, KS. The new CEO will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all credit union activities in alignment with the board of directors' established plans, policies, and directives. This role ensures financial stability and member satisfaction, acting in the best interests of members, employees, and the credit union. The CEO will provide strategic direction, vision, leadership, and management across all functional areas. Frontier Community Credit Union currently has $200 million in assets and serves over 17,000 members. The credit union's Purpose Statement is: 'Guiding Financial Freedom through the Power of Every Connection.' Requirements

  • At least ten years of similar or related experience.
  • Seasoned professional with skills in selection, recruiting, and managing a culture attractive to highly effective employees.
  • Advanced understanding of corporate income statements and balance sheets.
  • General knowledge of the principles and practices of financial administration.
  • Knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of financial management.
  • Must be able to patiently communicate and motivate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
  • Writes and speaks effectively, uses conventions proper to the situation; demonstrates openness and honesty; listens well during meetings and feedback sessions; explains reasoning behind own opinions; asks others for their opinions and feedback; asks questions to ensure understanding; exercises a professional approach with others using all appropriate tools of communication; uses consideration and tact when offering opinions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and control all credit union activities in accordance with credit union plans, policies, Governance Policies, directives, and activities as established by the board of directors.
  • Ensure financial stability and member satisfaction in the best interests of members, employees, and the credit union.
  • Provide strategic direction, vision, leadership, and management in all functional areas.
  • Create, implement, and update long-term plans to grow the credit union and meet member needs (Strategic Planning).
  • Direct daily work across departments like lending, finance, marketing, human resources, and risk management (Operations Management).
  • Partner with the Board of Directors by sharing reports, giving advice, and executing approved policies (Board Relations).
  • Keep the institution safe, financially stable, and compliant with state and federal banking laws (Compliance and Safety).
  • Demonstrate leadership, promoting a positive environment and culture through communication and relationships with staff, members, and other members of the community (Communications and Relationships).
  • Achieve communication and relationship goals through visibility across all branch offices, connections with credit union and community members, and active involvement in community organizations and activities.
