About The Position

As the Preservation Program Lead, you will be responsible for continuing the development of a formal Preservation Management Program under the larger Information Governance Program to ensure completeness, consistency, and appropriate prioritization of preservation projects across Google’s Legal Discovery organisation. This new program allows for a more methodical approach to preservation work across the Discovery team, encouraging proactive and thoughtful approaches to prioritization, and providing standing guidance to stakeholders to improve adoption/compliance. This program will also allow provide organisation-wide metrics, reporting on preservation efforts and providing leadership with both a comprehensive window into the work the teams are doing in this area and an understanding of all outstanding gaps and associated legal risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in management consulting, operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity or corporate advisory, or 6 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 4 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.
  • 4 years of experience developing business strategies or managing cross-functional initiatives.

  • Experience having driven development and onboarding of a new policy or decision-making framework, legal technology or managing existing technology and related processes.
  • Experience with problem-solving, quantitative analysis, and communicating findings to executive management.
  • Ability to work across teams, build relationships, and influence executives.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage a deep substantive understanding of processes and programs for Legal Discovery/InfoGov, including relevant legal, policy, and regulatory concerns that are being addressed.
  • Work closely with Discovery Counsel, legal professionals, and cross-functional partners to gather requirements, manage project schedules, and clearly communicate status with project stakeholders. Manage and track project progress against success metrics.
  • Apply a deep understanding of the use of technology to address legal requirements and processes, and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to develop relevant technology roadmaps.
  • Draft and maintain documentation related to the program, including self-help guidance for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure leadership alignment and exert stakeholder influence via an ability to garner consensus from internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, surrounding new ideas and strategies.
