Preschool Teacher Assistant | Full-Time, Mon-Fri
About The Position
ACCESS is seeking a Preschool Teacher Assistant for its Early Childhood classrooms in Little Rock, Arkansas. The assistant works alongside a lead teacher and a team of therapists to support preschoolers as they learn to communicate, play, share, and try new things. The classrooms serve children with and without learning differences and aim to provide a welcoming place where every child belongs. This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, for 40 hours per week, with no nights or weekends. Starting pay is $15 per hour. No teaching degree is needed; experience with children in settings such as babysitting, nannying, volunteering, or daycare is accepted. Candidates must pass a drug screening, background check, adult/child maltreatment check, and abuse/neglect registry check before starting.
Requirements
- Patience and warmth with young children.
- Reliability and a positive attitude.
- Energy to stay active throughout the day.
- Some experience with children in any setting; babysitting, nannying, volunteering, and daycare experience count.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass a drug screening, background check, adult/child maltreatment check, and abuse/neglect registry check before starting.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside a lead teacher to support daily classroom activities and routines.
- Help children build early learning, social, and self-help skills.
- Partner with speech, occupational therapy, and physical therapy therapists to support each child's development.
