About The Position

To assist the Preschool Lead teacher in implementing goals and objectives as stated in Quality First Preschool Program. To work closely with preschool students on a regular basis to provide them with the physical, academic, and emotional support they need to gain the full benefit from instruction.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Must obtain IVP fingerprint clearance within 10 days of start date.
• Must obtain TB test within 10 days of start date.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with students preferred but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• May assist the student(s) with physical tasks such as dressing, feeding, and toileting.
• Assists students while attending special area classes (P.E., music, art, etc.).
• Under the supervision of a teacher, works one-on-one or with small groups of students to guide them through academic lessons and/or strengthen daily living skills.
• Understands the importance of confidentiality of all student information.
• Performs playground and/or lunch duty as assigned by the classroom teacher.
• Participates in any assigned trainings.
• Performs other assigned duties as required by supervisor.
