About The Position

Holy Cross Academy is seeking a nurturing, dedicated, and faith‑filled Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood program. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for providing developmentally appropriate instruction that supports the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of young children while fostering a safe, joyful, and Christ‑centered learning environment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field required.
  • Valid early childhood teaching certification/license preferred (or ability to obtain per diocesan and state requirements).
  • Experience teaching preschool or early childhood students preferred.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Patient, flexible, and nurturing approach to teaching young children.
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support and respect Catholic teachings and traditions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with diocesan, state, and school curriculum standards.
  • Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and traditions into daily lessons, routines, and classroom culture.
  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment for preschool‑aged children.
  • Support the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child.
  • Observe, assess, and document student progress; communicate progress with families as appropriate.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of young children.
  • Maintain accurate records related to attendance, assessments, and student performance.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians.
  • Collaborate with fellow preschool staff, support staff, and administration.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school liturgies, and events.
  • Supervise students during classroom activities and transitions.
  • Uphold school policies and actively support the mission of Catholic education.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
