About The Position

The Paterson Public Schools is seeking a qualified Preschool Special Education Teacher. This role involves implementing effective instructional practices and strategies for elementary students, analyzing data to drive instruction, and fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the ability to utilize technology in the classroom. This position is pending budget availability.

Requirements

• Must hold New Jersey Preschool through Grade 3 (P-3) certificate with a Students with Disabilities certificate, or a Teacher of the Handicapped certificate.
• Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA.
• Effective instructional practices and strategies.
• Ability to analyze and use data to drive instruction.
• Experience working with elementary students.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and good moral character.
• Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others.
• Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community.
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
