About The Position
The Paterson Public Schools is seeking a Preschool Special Education Teacher. This position requires knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA), effective instructional practices, and the ability to use data to drive instruction. The ideal candidate will have experience working with elementary students, excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, good moral character, and be a critical thinker and problem solver who respects others. Computer literacy and effective communication skills are also essential. This position is pending budget availability and is open for ten (10) consecutive days or until filled. Requirements
- Must hold New Jersey Elementary School Teacher in Grades Pre-K-3 certificate, or other appropriate content certification for position with a Students with Disabilities certificate
- Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA
- Effective instructional practices and strategies
- Ability to analyze and use data to drive instruction
- Experience working with elementary students
- Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and good moral character
- Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others
- Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community
- Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
