About The Position

The Paraprofessional aids in student instruction to help students achieve proficiency at a grade-appropriate level and assists the classroom teacher as needed. The role also involves supporting students’ faith development and modeling Christian behavior in speech and actions. The position reports to the Preschool Head.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred.
Georgia Teaching Certification preferred.
Classroom experience preferred.
Ability to lift and transport boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods while instructing.
Excellent hearing abilities.
Ability to transport students from one area of a building or campus to another.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Education.

Responsibilities

Minister to students compassionately and sincerely to support their growth in faith.
Accept the work at Mount Paran Christian School as a personal calling and identify as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Teach subjects at an appropriate instructional level as needed.
Assist the classroom teacher in creating a positive and constructive classroom environment.
Assume classroom leadership in the absence of the classroom teacher.
Assist with transporting students throughout the campus.
Promote student engagement to assess and encourage progress.
Support and strengthen each student’s learning capabilities.
Monitor and manage student behavior, including appropriately enforcing behavior rules.
Maintain a professional demeanor in dealings with parents and students.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policy.
Supervise students in out-of-class settings, such as field trips or recess.
Show support and high esteem for Mount Paran Christian School.
Comply with conditions stated in the employee contract and handbook.
Model appropriate Christian behavior in speech and actions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
