About The Position

The Goddard School of Cary Lochmere is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and technology-savvy Preschool Operations Coordinator to join their administrative team. This is a hands-on position focused on keeping a busy preschool organized, solving problems, supporting teachers, and ensuring details are managed. As part of a three-person administrative team, the coordinator will work collaboratively with the Center Director and Curriculum Specialist, focusing on school operations, organization, quality assurance, technology, events, and day-to-day classroom support. This role requires a candidate who is comfortable using technology for organization and planning, coordinating events, solving operational issues, and being present throughout the school to support classroom needs. The position offers the opportunity to join an established team with strong staff retention and long-term educators, valuing a candidate who can build positive, respectful working relationships while providing consistent operational support. The role emphasizes professional growth and creating an exceptional experience for children, families, and teachers.

  • Communicates professionally and confidently with teachers, families, and the administrative team and is comfortable providing clear operational direction when needed.

  • Can shift priorities when the needs of the school change without allowing other important responsibilities to fall behind.
  • Works well independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative administrative team.
  • Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in early childhood education, school administration, operations, or a related environment preferred.
  • Experience working in a licensed early childhood setting strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, technology, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and follow tasks through to completion.
  • Ability to take initiative and work effectively with minimal day-to-day direction.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of an administrative team.

  • Must be able to participate in a rotating opening and closing schedule.
  • Must pass required state background checks and meet applicable state education, experience, and credential requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the school, including staffing flow, classroom coverage, breaks, transitions, supplies, technology, and other operational needs.
  • Share responsibility with the administrative team for opening and closing the school on a rotational basis, ensuring the school is prepared for a safe and successful start and end to each day.
  • Maintain a consistent and visible presence throughout the school, conducting regular classroom rounds to identify needs, address operational concerns, and support teachers and classrooms.
  • Manage multiple daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities; maintain effective systems for tracking tasks and deadlines; and ensure assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support quality assurance processes, classroom operational standards, required documentation, safety practices, emergency preparedness, and licensing readiness.
  • Use technology confidently and efficiently to organize school operations, prepare professional materials and communications, maintain information, and support administrative projects.
  • Coordinate the planning and logistics of school events, family activities, staff initiatives, and special programs from preparation through completion.
  • Anticipate needs, recognize issues before they become larger problems, determine appropriate next steps, and take ownership through resolution.
  • Work closely with the Center Director and Curriculum Specialist while demonstrating professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and respect when working with children, families, and an experienced team of educators.
