About The Position

The City of Napa Parks and Recreation Services Department is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to develop and organize programs that bring the community together. This role focuses on Summer Camps, Preschool Programs, and Youth Enrichment Programs, with potential contributions to special events, youth and adult sports, and other city-wide programs. The coordinator will identify community needs and opportunities through research and networking to increase engagement, outreach, and program enrollment, ultimately achieving long-term results such as engagement, financial stability, social equity, and quality of living. Candidates with bilingual (Spanish) skills are highly desirable. The department serves approximately 80,000 residents with programs including sports leagues, aquatics, day camps, special events, and enrichment and health & wellness classes. They are also responsible for the operation and maintenance of parks, trails, an urban forest, and two community centers.

Technical/Professional Knowledge & Skills – having achieved a satisfactory level of technical skill or knowledge in position-related areas; keeping up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise; using knowledge to accomplish results.

Developing and organizing programs that bring the community together.

Organizing camp or preschool experiences for kids.
