About The Position

The Learning Experience is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Cook to prepare daily nutritious meals for preschool children. The role contributes to the well-being of children, families, and communities by providing healthy meals, monitoring food allergies, maintaining food safety, and supporting the childcare center’s daily needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
Food handling certificate, or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and cook healthy, delicious meals for preschool children that meet proper nutritional requirements.
Track each child’s food allergies and communicate identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures and ensure food is stored properly.
Work with the Center Leadership team to purchase necessary food and supplies and maintain inventory records required by local and state agencies.
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward parents and children; listen and communicate effectively.
Adapt to the daily business needs of a childcare center.
