About The Position
The Learning Experience seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Cook to prepare daily nutritious meals for preschool children. The role contributes to the well-being of children, their families, and communities by serving healthy meals and supporting a safe, positive childcare environment. The cook works with Center Leadership to purchase food and supplies, maintain inventory records, track food allergies, and meet food safety and sanitation requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
- Food handling certificate, or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook healthy meals for preschool children that meet proper nutritional requirements.
- Maintain and track food allergies for each child and communicate identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
- Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures and ensure food is stored properly.
- Collaborate with the Center Leadership team to purchase necessary food and supplies and maintain inventory records as required by local and state agencies.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with parents and children.
- Adapt to the daily business needs of a childcare center.
