About The Position

The Learning Experience is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Preschool Cook to prepare daily nutritious meals for preschool children. The role contributes to the well-being of children, their families, and the community by providing healthy meals and helping ensure children’s food safety. The cook works with the Center Leadership team on purchasing food and supplies, maintaining inventory records, and adapting to the day-to-day needs of a childcare center.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in food preparation and cooking.
Food handling certificate, or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and cook healthy, delicious meals for preschool children that meet proper nutritional requirements.
Maintain and track each child’s food allergies to ensure their safety, and communicate identified allergies to teachers daily with every food delivery.
Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures and ensure food is stored properly.
Collaborate with the Center Leadership team to purchase necessary food and supplies and maintain inventory records as required by local and state agencies.
Provide excellent customer service and a positive attitude toward parents and children; listen and communicate effectively.
Be flexible and adaptable to the daily business needs of a childcare center.
