About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time Preschool Classroom Assistant for its classical and Catholic classroom in Jacksonville, Florida, for the 2026–2027 academic year. The position is in person and is 13 hours per week, with center hours on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The role is hourly, and childcare or nursery care is provided for staff. Regina Caeli Academy is a national classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition that offers tutoring in a Socratic classroom setting. Teaching certification and formal teaching experience are not required; training, curriculum, and grading guidelines are provided. Tutors are trained to deliver instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, have a deep love for the Catholic faith, and live the faith day to day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life. All employees must pass a clear background check. The academy provides accommodations for sick days as needed; no additional vacation days are given beyond the listed vacation and Holy Days.

Requirements

Able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
Live the Catholic faith day to day and have received the sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
Strong communication skills, organization, and timeliness.
Traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
Must have a clear background check.

Nice To Haves

Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
Experience in Catholic parish ministry or teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
Experience teaching one's own children.
Experience teaching in a classical or private school; this is not required.

Responsibilities

Support a preschool classroom in a classical and Catholic educational setting.
Provide instruction and classroom management according to Regina Caeli Academy standards after training.
