About The Position

NEMCSA is seeking a Preschool Classroom Aide Substitute to help create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom where children can learn, grow, and build skills for kindergarten success. The role supports children’s development and well-being, assists teachers with classroom activities and daily operations, and partners with families. It is an active, hands-on position supporting young children throughout the day. The selected applicant must submit fingerprints for a State of Michigan Background Check and bring an acceptable form of identification to the fingerprinting appointment. Failure to submit fingerprints makes the applicant ineligible for hire within the program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience caring for or working with young children preferred.
• Pass the required State of Michigan fingerprint-based background check and provide acceptable identification for the fingerprinting appointment.
• Be comfortable standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and using hands for classroom activities.
• The position may occasionally require driving, flexible hours, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
