About The Position
Preschool & Toddler Aides at Kamaʻāina Kids help create safe, happy, and engaging classrooms where children can learn to trust, explore, make friends, and discover their capabilities. The organization is hiring caring and dependable individuals to join their preschool teams in Kailua and Kaneohe. Kamaʻāina Kids provides support through paid training, professional development, college tuition assistance, and hands-on experience with experienced educators, with pathways to advance into Teacher, Lead Teacher, and leadership roles.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Enjoy working with young children and helping them learn through play
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and reside in Hawai‘i (or have plans to relocate)
Nice To Haves
- 12–24 months of experience caring for children under age 3 in a licensed childcare setting (for Infant/Toddler Caregiver role)
- Infant/Toddler training completed or willingness to obtain it with our support (for Infant/Toddler Caregiver role)
- CDA or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field) (for Teacher role)
- 6–12 months of experience in a licensed preschool or childcare program (for Teacher role)
Responsibilities
- Help create a classroom where children feel safe, included, and excited to learn
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Participate in art, music, stories, sensory play, outdoor activities, and hands-on learning
- Encourage independence, curiosity, communication, and confidence
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and the teaching team
- Help keep the classroom clean, organized, and ready for the next adventure
