About The Position
Kamaʻāina Kids, a recognized Top Workplace in Hawaiʻi, is seeking Substitute Preschool Aides for their Ewa Beach & Kapolei preschool classrooms, serving children from infants through PreK. As a substitute, you will provide support in classrooms when regular staff are absent, ensuring a positive, safe, and engaging environment for the children. Requirements
- Genuine interest in working with young children.
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
- Dependable, adaptable, and ready to step in where needed.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must live in Hawaiʻi or be planning to relocate.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with children (babysitting, parenting, tutoring, coaching, volunteering) is helpful—but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in classrooms when regular staff are out, ensuring each day remains positive, safe, and engaging for young learners.
- Support teachers with classroom activities such as art, music, and outdoor play.
- Assist with daily routines including snacks, transitions, and clean-up.
- Help children feel welcomed, secure, and included.
- Adapt to different classrooms and teamwork styles.
- Create continuity and calm for children during staff absences.
