Presales System Engineer - K12 and Local Government - Utah
About The Position
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a motivated Presales Systems Engineer to support its growing HPE Networking business, including Aruba and Juniper Networks. This position is intended for an experienced systems engineer ready to advance their career. The engineer will work with account teams, partners, and customers to design and position networking solutions that support digital transformation. The role is designated remote/teleworker, primarily working from home, and requires residence in the greater Utah area with regular travel to customer sites within Utah. The engineer will build technical proficiency across HPE Networking offerings, including Aruba wired and wireless, ClearPass, Central, Juniper switching and routing, security, and automation. They will engage with customers and sales teams to understand requirements, develop architectures and proposals, present and demonstrate solutions, and lead proof-of-concept activities. The role also includes advanced training and certification, and collaboration with internal teams and partners to support successful solution positioning and adoption.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in networking infrastructure.
- Prior experience as a networking systems engineer or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with network design principles and protocols.
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Reside in the greater Utah area and be able to travel regularly to customer sites within Utah.
- Experience in networking design, installation, services, and support is desired.
- Background or experience in government (state, local, or federal), K–12, enterprise, or service provider industries.
Nice To Haves
- Understanding of SLED and enterprise environments and procurement processes.
- Interest in network automation, AI-driven operations, and cloud-managed networking.
Responsibilities

- Partner with sales teams to understand customer needs, design solutions, and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations.
- Create architectures and proposals aligned with customer objectives and lead proof-of-concept activities.
- Participate in advanced training programs and certifications to deepen expertise in HPE and Juniper technologies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and partners to ensure successful solution positioning and adoption.
- Travel regularly to customer sites within Utah.
