About the Role: We are seeking a Presales Solutions Director, Specification-Driven Development (SDD), to join our Go-to-Market team. In this role, you will serve as a strategic senior advisor across Jama’s most important customer, market, and revenue engagements. Reporting directly to Jama’s GTM executive leadership, you will bring first-hand experience navigating the complexity of modern engineering environments. You will translate your practical experience into strategic customer advisory, executive education, sales support, and market-facing thought leadership. In this role, you will help shape how the market understands SDD, why it matters now, and how stronger specification and traceability practices allow organizations to confidently leverage AI-led engineering to improve product quality, accelerate development velocity, and preserve deep technical context across complex product development lifecycles.

Requirements

  • 12+ Years of Engineering/Product Experience: Direct experience with systems engineering, software/hardware development, requirements, traceability, verification and validation (V&V), quality, compliance, or digital engineering transformation.
  • Industry Domain Expertise: Deep familiarity with highly regulated or complex engineering environments, including medical device, automotive, aerospace and defense, semiconductor, consumer electronics, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Applied SDD & AI Understanding: Demonstrated background applying Specification-Driven Development within complex environments. Proven ability to speak credibly on how precise specifications serve as the critical source of truth required for reliable, agentic AI-driven development.
  • Customer-Facing Credibility: Recent experience applying engineering expertise in customer-facing advisory, executive education, strategic sales support, solution consulting, transformation leadership, or market-facing thought leadership contexts.
  • Executive Presence: Proven track record engaging and influencing senior leaders, such as VP/SVP of Engineering, CTO, Chief Engineer, Head of Product Development, Quality, Compliance, or Digital Transformation.
  • Lifecycle Architecture Insights: Strong understanding of how requirements, specifications, design decisions, implementation details, validation evidence, and compliance artifacts can become disconnected across complex development lifecycles.
  • Communication Mastery: Exceptional communication, storytelling, facilitation, and consultative problem-solving skills across technical, executive, and commercial audiences.

  • Jama Platform Expertise: Direct experience implementing or consulting on Jama Connect.
  • Ecosystem Familiarity: Experience with requirements management, ALM, and PLM platforms, including IBM DOORS, DOORS Next, Siemens Polarion, PTC Codebeamer, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
  • Modern Engineering Methodologies: Strong knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Digital Engineering practices, and emerging AI agent application frameworks.
  • Advanced Technical Education: Advanced degree in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or equivalent depth of applied technical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory: Partner with Jama executive leadership and Solutions Consulting teams to shape SDD strategy, customer narratives, strategic opportunity positioning, and our broader market point of view.
  • Executive Customer Engagement: Lead senior customer advisory engagements across Jama’s most strategic revenue opportunities. Translate complex engineering environments into clear business cases, executive presentations, proof-of-value strategies, and measurable outcomes via Jama Connect.
  • Market Evangelism: Serve as a market-facing subject matter expert and evangelist for SDD. Represent Jama through executive education, customer forums, webinars, industry events, advisory content, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • AI Product Innovation Feedback Loop: Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to convert direct customer signals and market trends into product requirements, specifically helping refine how Jama leverages secure, controlled LLM workflows and AI agents within engineering pipelines.
  • Cross-Functional GTM Enablement: Collaborate across Sales, Solutions Consulting, Marketing, Customer Success, and Professional Services to turn emerging SDD themes into repeatable messaging, technical use cases, enablement, and GTM plays.
