About The Position

Performs dishwashing duties and maintains general cleanliness of the kitchen area. All Whole Foods Market Retail jobs require providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members while supporting a positive company image. Work must follow team and store Standard Operating Procedures, applicable health and safety regulations, and department food-safety requirements. Team Members are expected to be prepared to perform duties inherent in other Team Member job descriptions and to support Whole Foods Market core values, goals, programs, and initiatives.

The role includes washing and sanitizing dishes and kitchen equipment, maintaining clean kitchen surfaces and floors, and assisting with deliveries and product storage. It also involves customer service, product preparation and merchandising procedures, adherence to sanitation and safe-work practices, assigned opening and closing duties, and reporting safety hazards. No prior retail experience is required. The position requires physical work in varied temperatures and wet or dry conditions, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Ability to work in wet and dry conditions and tolerate exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures below 32°F, between 32°F and 40°F, and above 90°F.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to use knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery; may require use of ladders.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves.
• Assist with kitchen deliveries, including proper product storage, organization, and rotation.
• Arrive at the workstation on time, appropriately groomed and dressed, and ready to work; work scheduled shifts and attend required trainings and meetings.
• Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly and effectively, model suggestive selling techniques, and answer phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Maximize sales potential through proper procedures for preparing, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
• Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices; ensure compliance where applicable.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and maintain equipment according to cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform assigned opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure signs and pricing are accurate.
• Immediately report safety hazards and violations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
